Trough Budapest to Slovakia and back

From 21 to 27 November 2010 the third meeting under the two year project “ The heritage of Europe– the Traditions are Alive” of the sector program “Komenski” took place in the city of Vrable in the region of Nitra in Slovakia. In the meeting there were the five project’s partners.


From the Bulgarian behalf there were four students and two teachers from Elementary School “Constantine Fotinov”.

The program included:

Sunday – 21.11.2010 – departure from Lom at 7:00am – stay over night in Budapest.

Monday – 22.11.2010 г. – arrival in Nitra and stay in hotel “River”

Tuesday – 23.11.2010

welcome party at the school of Vrable with a program “Our winter traditions”

School tour;

Welcome from the local authorities and the mayor;

Workshop / The Slovak presentation /

Club “ From Grandmother’s chest” – exhibition of historical objects and traditional national costumes

Dance club – presentation of traditional Slovak dances

Club “ Young artists” - elaboration of Christmas decoration and greeting cards

Club “International Cuisine – Christmas cookies

Wednesday 24.11.2010 – excursion.


Workshop– film presentation and traditional winter calendar – presentation of each participating country under the project – certification delivery for participation in the activity, report of the visit.

Thursday – 25.11.2010 – excursion to the High Tatras.

Friday – 25.11.2010. – departure from Slovakia and overnight stay in Budapest.


Saturday– 27.11.2010– Arrival in Lom, Bulgaria.
 
The picaresque views along the Danube banks and the historical places along the road to Budapest made the long exhausting journey much more pleasant



Short rest in Budapest and we catch the road again. This time the rout is shorter but as pleasant as the one before

Oh, moment , please hold! J We have such a good fun! An hour of swimming and games in the hotel’s pool.

Traditional Slovak dances performed by 9th dragers





Saint Nicholas, accompanied by the angels and the devil,
greeted the children and gave them sweets



The legend of Jesus birth came alive was performed by a large group of pupils
Angelic songs wakened the dreaming shepherds and ask them to bow in front
the Holly Child



The Men of wisdom also bow in front of the Holly Child, after which
 all started singing Holly night

New friendships appeared, e-mails and addresses were exchanged,

A school tour took place – joining the first graders, computer classes, and the
Foreign language lab. The corridors were with a fine decoration also J

Excursion to the High Tatras
The complex “Нabakuky”  is one of the newest attractions in Donovaly.  It is orientated toward the children and the theme is taken by Pavol Dobsinsky’s stories.

Iced lake Štrbské Pleso, which is covered by thick ice for 155  days per year .
A horse polo is played on it.
